kingston pharmacy interview

Hey everyone, I just had an interview for the Pharmacy Foundation course at Kingston University.

Does anyone know what kind of questions they ask?
What should I do to prepare?

Any advice would be appreciated!

Hi @ilsa najafi

Congrats on getting an interview!

Although we aren't allowed to share specifics on interview questions, here are a few tips:
Be prepared to explain why you chose that course and what you can bring to it. Read through the course details, and prepare your own questions for the end of the interview, to show that you are really interested and know what you're getting into.

In any interview, the STAR method is a really good one to use:
Situation: what situation did you have to deal with? (set the scene, give context)
Task: what task were you given? what did you have to do?
Action: what action did you take (in regards to the task)?
Result: what happened as a result of that action? what went well or not so well? what did you learn from that experience? what would you do differently?

And most importantly, relax and be yourself!

I hope this helps, and good luck with your interview 🙂

Hey I’m in the same boat now and would love some advice!
First, I would like to congratulate you all on getting interviews! And you're being so forward-thinking and resourceful to check online for advice ahead of time!
As stated by Kingston Lily I won't be able to tell you the direct questions, but I would also like to vouch for the star method.
So maybe take the time now to prepare a story demonstrating your best qualities following the star format! Perhaps if you have an example of how you overcame hardship with ingenuity?

Whilst I never had an entrance interview to Kingston, I do have a good amount of interview experience under my belt. And every single interview had some question along the lines
1. Why did you choose this course/position
With this question, they hope you understand your future goals, so maybe talk about how much you want to be a pharmacist and any personal stories connecting to it.

2. What is it about this company/ school that made you want to apply?
This demonstrates you've done background research on the company/university.

3. A question about your time management and how you cope with stressful times. They want to get to know you as a person and don't want you to be overwhelmed.

Every single job interview I've been to had a question along the line and this is important to think about even if they don't ask it. It's good to know this about yourself and your future 3 years.

Also try not to be too surprised by a really random question, they might ask you about your favourite song or your favourite animal just to see if you could react well on your feet and your thinking style.

Lastly, don't be nervous. And maybe remember the job interviewers might just be as nervous as you. They don't want to miss out on any good applicants and I'm sure you will be great. Just the fact you came online and asked shows you are ahead of a lot of other applicants. Best of luck!
