Biology content

Has anyone’s school finished a level biology content? My school has one topic left which is topic 6, we have done all the others tho it’s just our school does it in a different order. I’m just a bit concerned that our school is really late with finishing content and wondering if anyone else’s school is like this?

We've got one week on Topic 8 left (our last topic).

This is because my teacher wasn’t in for half the time in year 12
@always-anxious you are short before finishing your exams in biology, can you say anything to contents, about topic 6 in particular?

No, we've not finished content yet either. We're still working through the final topic.

Yeah, for some reason I stupidly thought gene expression was one of the 'easier' topics and I'd never been humbled so fast when we got to the complicated stuff 💀

I'd be happy to give some advice on how I revise for bio  For harder topics, I watch a youtube video on the topic and then write down everything I can remember from the video after watching it, then adding anything I missed in another colour. This makes it clear where your knowledge is lacking and what you need to focus on. Also the more past paper questions you do the more prepared you'll be for the exams. The mark schemes are diabolical so the more exam questions you answer, the more you'll get used to the mark schemes and how you need to word your answers to get the marks. For context I'm on an B/A right now and I hope to get at least a B. If you have any other questions I'd be happy to answer the best I can.

Miss estrunch??

Yes, I tend to use Miss Estruch Biology videos the most for revision. There is also A Level Biology Help and Free Science Lessons if you prefer a different style of videos

For AQA, yes I'm pretty sure. I've noticed her videos have similar wording to the specification which is a good sign :yy:

Ugh there’s always stupid bits every resoucje misses out and I’m sick to death of it. I just watched the ‘everything you need to know’ for photosynthesis she did and I did a past paper question on the enzymes of photosynthesis and guess what she missed that out. I’m sick of it I hate biology and AQA and the resources

Yeah I've noticed that as well. I find it's best to use different resources to make sure you're getting all of the content (e.g. textbooks, different YouTube channels etc.)

I assume the specification and past papers are the probably best bet for getting accurate content AQA makes these themselves :dontknow: But yeah I get what you mean it's so annoying when revision content can't even be fully trusted... it just makes biology so much harder :-/
