Doesn't let me provide income details

Hi, I'm trying to complete the application to support my son's application. I've done my husband's part, and he's had an email saying it's been done. But when I try and provide my financial information, it says:-

You must complete your application on our old service.Our record show that you started your application on our old service. This means you must use the old service to complete it. Visit your account page on our old service where you can find information to complete your application.

The account page link takes me to an invalid link, and it doesn't let me do anything. I don't understand what it means about the old service - I just followed the link from the email (the same as my husband did).

What do I do now? It says I can download a PFF2 form, but I can't find where to find that either - and I would rather do it all online if I can. It's all very complicated!!

Are you trying to create a new account? Have you had an account previously with us? Have you ever been a student or supported an application before?

I created a new account, I can log in and it shows my son's application but when I go to provide finance info it takes me to a page that says I used an old system before and I have to use that old system now but the link is invalid and I just keep going round in circles. Never had an account before, never had student finance, never supported anyone before. First time I ever used student finance site apart from helping my son on Sunday with his application was yesterday. My husband was doing his alongside me and his went through 🤷

Hi there,

We are currently experiencing some issues for some sponsors to support a students application. We have been told it should be fixed in 24 hours and once this is fixed you will be able to support the application.

I've been trying all day yesterday and just now this morning and it's still bringing up the message that I need to use the old system, and it's not letting me do anything. I'd like to get this completed and done, I don't want my son's application held up any longer than it has to be. What do I do now?, as it's obviously not going to let me complete this online.

If you're still having issues with completing this and it's for an upcoming 25/26 course then you can download and complete the PFF2 form: https://media.slc.co.uk/sfe/2526/ft/sfe_pff2_form_2526_o.pdf and upload this to your account or their account. Thanks, Jason

OK thanks. I've not had chance to look at the form today, but I've just tried to do it online again and it's still saying the same thing about the old system so it doesn't look like I've got a choice but to do it the other way. Its easier to do it online though, I don't understand why it's not letting me. If it's a system problem which is supposed to be sorted by now then I dont understand why it's still not letting me. I've never used the old system so not sure why it says that. I'll have to try and have a look at it tomorrow.

I've tried to ring this morning, but it just takes you to an option where it tells me to go online and then cuts me off. So, I'm trying online but the online chat is just "waiting to chat" and it's been like that for ages. I'm sure it'll be easier to actually talk to someone rather than having to keep typing all this out every time, but that seems impossible. This is just ridiculous!

Hi there, unfortunately due to the new application launch, this can take some time to get through to an advisor. As you are currently in the queue for an advisor I would say to wait, and the next available advisor will be with you as soon as possible. Thanks, Stephen.

I eventually managed to get through and spoke to someone. She advised me, as you have on here, that there is a problem with the system and this should be sorted within 24 hours. I did tell her that I have been told for the last 3 days the same thing and it still isn't sorted. She said I should wait 24 hours until Friday evening and then check again. I'm a bit concerned that as it keeps telling me that I started the application on the old system, therefore I need to complete it on the old system, that is never going to get sorted as 24 hours keeps coming and going! So, I have uploaded the completed PFF2 form via my account. My question now is how do I know that it's been received, completed correctly or being dealt with as there is nothing in my account which shows I have even sent it. I don't want to presume it's being dealt with to then find out it isn't.

Additionally, is there no way I can do this through my account? The account is showing as action needing to be done - but I can't do it as it just takes me to the old system message. There has to be a reason why it's telling me I'm on the old system - is there no way of me accessing that (like it tells me to), so I can complete it on there? What happens next year when my son puts in for SF again?

I never thought it would be this difficult!!

Hi there, the PFF2 currently takes 5 working days to update. If you ask the student to monitor their account this will be updated and their application approved after this time - and the student has completed any actions. Thanks, Jason
