Late applicant

So I was going into healthcare sciences and have suddenly realised( because if many reasons) that I would much rather do nursing. It’s far too late now to apply through UCAS and am wondering what to do. I am planning right now to apply through clearing and hope there’s spaces but I’m unsure how many spaces there usually are or if I would get one. Currently getting A, A,C in my A-Levels.
Any advice
It’s not too late to apply through UCAS. Have you looked on UCAS to see which courses are still advertising vacancies? The majority of courses don’t close

You need a full UCAS application to use clearing anyway so to maximise your chances apply to 5 choices now. You will still have the option to use clearing as a backup but you will have more choice and chances applying before then

Still apply through UCAS, it just means that you’ll be considered after applicants who met the equal consideration deadline

Best case you get an offer and worst case you’re already in UCAS ready for clearing when it opens - when I was researching last year and looking at clearing most unis still had nursing places available into September - obviously a quick turnaround to get finance/accomodation sorted but can be done 😊

Hi @maddiewood

It is great to hear you are looking to study nursing.

Yes it isn't too late to apply for a nursing course for September. I agree with everyone, I'd recommend searching available courses on UCAS.

If there is a particular university you are looking to study at, I would recommend you contact them directly to enquire what nursing courses they have available. You could also ask if they have any opportunities for you to go and visit them. This might help you decide where to apply to. Nursing courses will be vary similar in course content and structure. However, the facilities available and the student experience will vary.

We have a wide range of nursing programme which may be of interest to you. Further information about these can be found here.

I hope this helps 🙂
