Warwick uni accom and cats

I may be going to the University of Warwick this year September and I really want to own a pet. I’m a bit confused on how accommodation works. It says online that “students are not permitted to bring or keep pets within University owned, leased or controlled accommodation.” But I’m unsure what exactly the accommodations that are owned, leased and controlled by the university is there anyway I can own a cat without having to breach any contracts. I don’t have any medical history that means I require a cat. It’s something that I really want though

This rule means that if you're thinking of living in a university-owned on-campus or off-campus flat or dorm, pets aren't allowed. If you really want to have a cat, I'd suggest renting private off-campus student flats that are pet-friendly, then you'll be free to have a kitten. These student flats generally have pet-friendly amenities. It's easy to search for pet-friendly off-campus flats near Warwick on rental apps.
