Live in Leeds and studying at York St John University

I'm looking at living in Leeds because of part-time job opportunities while doing my master's in York, is it doable? How frequent are classes per week?

Have you worked out your total travel time? Also, which Master's?

Hi, dear. I don't have this experience, but I think It is feasible to live in Leeds whilst studying for a Masters degree at the University of York. Leeds and York are 25-30 miles apart and take 25 minutes by direct train; if travelling frequently, you can get a monthly pass, which costs £200 - £250, with a 1/3 discount with a 16-25 railcard. If the Leeds job provides valuable experience, then the commute is worth it.

Hi there!

I'm a current third-year psychology student, and in September I'll be starting the Psychology MRes. For the MRes, we'll have two days of teaching per week, and a lot of the research masters follow suit! The taught masters may require you to be in from 2-4 days, depending on the course! In this case, commuting is definitely possible. A lot of my friends who are staying for a Masters will be moving to Leeds and commuting, and one of my best friends actually commutes from Wakefield and manages just fine

If you could let me know which masters course you're looking at, I can do my best to find out for you? Alternatively, you could get in touch with [email protected], who can get you in touch with the relevant academics!
