Veterinary Medicine & Clearing

Is there ever any Veterinary Medicine degrees via clearing

Rarely. A few years back there were a few Nottingham April places.

Hey I was there at the offer holder day too and remember them saying this, do you think that they would be lenient with grades to people who originally had offers? I’ve had a conditional but i’m scared I might slightly miss the entry requirements so just wondering if they’ll be lenient if they’re going through clearing anyway!

Tbh, I'm really not sure, but I was speaking to one of the students and they said they had an original offer for AAB, but got ABB and are there. Have faith in yourself though and you will get it I believe in you!!

Do not rely on Clearing to secure a place your chances of getting into the course this way are significantly lower than through the standard application process.

1.

I attended the offer-holder day at Nottingham, where Helen Gibbson mentioned that there might be places available through Clearing. However, this is not guaranteed. Nowhere on their website does it state that places are reserved for Clearing in April—this wouldn’t be a viable strategy for them (see point 2).

2.

Universities always make more offers than available places because a percentage of students inevitably miss their grades. However, since students generate income (to put it bluntly), universities aim to fill all available spots to maintain financial stability.

3.

In rare cases, an exceptional year may result in more students missing their offers, leaving a small number of places in Clearing. Realistically, this is unlikely to exceed 10. If this happens, you’ll need to act very quickly when contacting the university. You can sign up for the alerts from April btw.

Focus on your studies! You will do well, don't fret
