Student Finance maintenance loan

Hello, I have just submitted my application for student finance and selected the option for the maximum amount on the maintenance loan (around £11,000). However, upon reviewing the application summary, it is showing that I picked the higher amount and says it is up to £6,194 but this simply won't cover my accommodation, if anyone has any advice as to why it is showing this amount, I would really appreciate it :smile:

How old are you and was this for the 2025/26 academic year? Is it a full time undergraduate course you have applied for?

Hello, I will be 20 tomorrow, yes it is for 2025/26 and yes a full time undergraduate course. Btw, the £6194 isn't what I have told I will get, its just saying that the higher maintenance loan amount is "up to £6194" but on the previous page when selecting the option it says that the maximum is £11,000.

Hi there, we need to assess your application to award you the maximum amount applicable to you. If you are under 25 and being supported by your parent(s) support your application and this is processed then the amount will be reassessed. This currently takes an estimated 5 working days to be done. Thanks, Jason
