Advice Needed: Arden BSc Digital Marketing vs UOE BA Business & Marketing (Online)

Hi everyone,

I’ve been researching for days but still struggling to decide between these two online degree programs, so I’d really appreciate insights from students with real experience:

Arden University: BSc (Hons) Digital Marketing (Online)
University of Essex: Business and Marketing BA (Hons) (Online)
I was initially drawn to Digital Marketing because I’m currently trying to build my own brand online. However, I’ve read multiple reviews about Arden University mentioning issues with marking, internal management, and even lost degree certificates, where students were asked to pay for a reprint. This makes me hesitant to accept their offer.

On the other hand, University of Essex seems to have fewer complaints, but the course lacks flexibility, which is important for me since I work while studying. Another concern is that I’m not particularly interested in finance, which is part of the this course. However, if it turns out to be the better option between the two, I’m open to considering it.

I also want to know if I would receive fully supported from either university, as this is really important to me.

If you have experience with either of these programs, I’d really appreciate your insights! How was the teaching quality, support, and overall experience?

Thanks in advance! 😊

NOT Arden.

Its an office block in Coventry, and has zero academic credibility.

Thank you very much! I saw the course details, and they seem quite interesting, so I feel quite tempted. Could you share your experience? Have you studied there before?

Hi, I did my MSc Psychology (conversion) at Arden University, the other poster is correct that the head office is in Coventry, but there are also study centres in Manchester, Birmingham and London - I took the 100% online option instead, but the blended learning option is very popular. Arden is a business, like some other degree providers, but for instance my MSc was fully accredited by the British Psychological Society, and the University meets the requirements of Student Finance England for degree and masters funding.

For an unbiased review of any provider, I would check their quality report from the Office for Students. Also, Arden do virtual open days - check their social media for upcoming events. I have worked in F.E and H.E for over 10 years, and they have the best virtual learning environment I have come across. Digital Marketing is not my area so I couldn't comment on the specifics of that course obviously.
