What has lead you to believe that?

What they say on their web site (here) is:

"Select Reading as your firm choice on UCAS and we will guarantee you a place even if you achieve one grade lower than the published offer*.

*Exceptions may apply; please check your course on our website."

They make no mention of the offer becoming unconditional.

Good evening,

Its great to hear you have firmed your choice

As far as I'm aware the university o reading only offer unconditional offers for The University of Reading's "Academic Excellence Scheme" (formerly a pilot program) offers unconditional offers to a select group of applicants who haven't completed their A-level or equivalent studies but meet specific academic criteria, based on GCSE performance, indicating potential for a strong degree. More information on this program can be found at the Applicant information webapge.

I suggest you use the Ask us a question form, to ask a staff member the same question, as i am not 100% sure and do not want to give you the wrong information.

We currently have a thread for 2025 applicants, where new students can find and talk to each other. Similarly, the student ambassadors have posted key tips for joining the university.

I hope this information helps, and if you have any more questions please let us know.

All the best,
Ella
