healing ear piercing advice

So 3 days ago I got a third lobe pierced, I know this is so dumb but it was used with a studex piercer.. so it’s not exactly one of those cheap piercing gun I suppose but it’s said to be a device that uses hand held pressure, it was pierced basically on the cartilage I would say or somewhere very near it.

Anyways fast forward to present time, I have now experienced swelling around the piercing.. it’s not exactly the actual hole swollen but it’s actually around the site that’s swollen, I noticed very small bleeding aswell when I was cleaning the piercing, i am also experiencing a throbbing pain aswell.

I could be paranoid but I was thinking that it could be because of the butterfly back used on the piercing, it’s quite tight on my ear and i’m agar aid that it’s because there is not enough room for my ear to actually swell. I was thinking that it’s best to remove the butterfly back and replace it with one of those clear backs but I can’t think of any other way to do this without disturbing the healing process. I was also thinking of going to an actual piercer to get this changed. I can’t really tell if the piercing is infected or maybe it is just the healing process and I should leave it alone.. but then again i could just be paranoid.

I know it’s hard to give advice about his as there is no photo of the piercing but any sort of ideas of what I should do please let me know!

I know it’s not something you want to do (from experience🤣) but would probably be best to take it out and get it done by a professional piercer with a needle once it’s healed otherwise you could end up with keloids etc, definitely should have been done with any kind of piercing gun if it was done professionally

Yeah I may just wait it out honestly, maybe around a week just to see if the swelling calms down. If it doesn’t change by then I will definitely be getting it redone.
