Medical Laboratory Assistant -Band 2 Sherwood forest hospital

Hello everyone!
I’m preparing for an upcoming practical aptitude test and interview for Medical Laboratory Assistant, Histopathology, and I was wondering if anyone could share any insights or tips from their experience.

Practical Aptitude Test: Are there any specific tasks or areas I should focus on? For example, any common procedures, techniques, or skills that are typically tested?

Interview Questions: Could anyone share common questions they were asked during the interview? What should I be ready to discuss or demonstrate?

Any help or advice would be much appreciated! Thanks so much in advance for your support.

Disclaimer I'm not histo but my band 3 interview was quite basic in terms of actual specialism knowledge. I imagine a 2 will be the same. I was asked more values questions to see how you work, like what would you do if you saw someone not following the SOP or what would you do if you realised you made a mistake. They're looking to see how you deal with situations that you might encounter.

As for the aptitude test, mine was reading a patient referral card, a sample tube and some labels that were made and spotting errors. So for example the sample tube might not match the referral paperwork and the stickers the lab had made would have typos and numbers switched round. They were looking for attention to detail.
