Accomodation for Foundation Year?

I have an unconditional offer for Computer Science with Foundation Year here, it is integrated, I am a home student and not international, and I am not sure whether or not I am eligible for student accomodation for my foundation year? I checked the websites and couldnt find a definitive answer. Any info would help, thank you.

When I read your post I was convinced that students joining a "with Foundation Year" course would be eligible for accomodation, and indeed guaranteed accomodation, as with any other new student.

However, having read through the accommodation section of their web site, I'm now less convinced. In the past the first year of uni was Year 1, so when unis started adding courses with an initial foundation year, then had to call that Year 0. Whilst Exeter don't use the term "Year 0" on their web site anywhere, they often refer to "Year 1" as the first year of the "regular" three-year undergraduate degree, following the foundation year.

That being the case, these extracts from their accomodation pages (with the bold added by me) would tend to suggest that they've "forgotten" about foundation applicants when it comes to accomodation:
"We guarantee an offer of accommodation if you apply by 31st July 2025 and are: an unaccompanied* home or international undergraduate who has firmly accepted an offer to study at the University of Exeter, entering into year 1 as a full-time student for the full academic year starting in September"
"If you are currently interrupted from your studies and will be restarting in year 1 or changing to a different course we would still encourage you submit your application as early as possible. If you know that you will be restarting in year 1 on your original or a new course then please apply as a 'New Undergraduate' student."

All that being the case, I suggest you contact Exeter's admissions office for clarity:

UK Tel: 0300 555 0444
International Tel: +44 1392 72 4724

Do tell us what they say.

Thanks for replying, I was also under the impression that I had a guarantee but just wanted to double check, I feel the same as you with 'being forgotten'.

I've emailed them, just need to wait for a response now, I will let you know the answer.
Thanks again 😁

I have received a response, and integrated foundation year students are indeed eligible for accomodation:

"Happy Wednesday!! Thank you for getting in touch.
I have looked up your student record. If you mark the University of Exeter as your 'firm' choice on UCAS, and apply for accommodation during the accommodation guarantee period, you will indeed be indeed eligible for guaranteed university-managed accommodation!
The accommodation guarantee period runs from 7 April until 31 July.

Kind regards,

Samuel
The Accommodation Office"

Thanks for your help @DataVenia.

That's great news! Hopefully they'll update the accommodation pages of their web site to make that fact clearer! (And you're welcome.)
Thanks DataVenia for the advice given here and LukeyDukey for sharing the response from our accomodation team. I have now highlighted this thread to the accomodation team so that they may be able to improve the guidance provided on those webpages.
