Republican, I’m against the UK having monarchy due to the high levels of inequality, but then again, I don’t trust Starmer to become the President of the UK.

Monarchy.

The current monarchy is profitable and not a single ordinary person would gain from seeing President Blair or Boris. It’s the definition of a needless change. Even the sovereign grant is just a proportion of revenues of the crown estate rather than a direct payment from taxes.

Monarchy. The crown brings tourism to Britain and events like coronations and weddings more than pay for themselves. Rulers in places like the Middle East are monarchs and so are more willing to form relationships with other royals because politicians come and go too quickly. The monarchy is also one of the few bits of soft power we have left and so it’s great to hold onto it. The diamond and platinum jubilee and the queen’s 90th birthday also brought the whole nation together

Very much republican. I want to live in a meritocratic aspirational society where a person can become head of state through their own ability and hard work rather than be told they are not allowed because they don't come from the right bloodline.
In principle a republic, though I care less strongly under Charles and Camilla in truth...
