Is it ok to email a uni if its taking a long time to accept/reject an application?

I've applied a long time ago and got a response from all the other universities I've applied to. I know that the last day for a uni to reply is still in May, but I'm worried my there has been some error or the uni may have skipped my application by accident. Will emailing the uni affect their decision negatively?

Don’t email

Phone them and ask if you have missed any emails asking for information and when they expect to make a decision

Hi, if you are concerned about your application give the admissions team a call to confirm everything is ok and they may be able to give you an idea of time when you will have a decision

It wont disadvantage you - but it wont make any difference to you getting an earlier offer either.so it essentially a waste of time.
