Slightly complicated question about part-time tuition fee funding

Hi,

I'm currently studying at the Open University, using a part-time tuition fee loan (I already have a previous undergraduate degree). An integrated master of physics, to be more precise.

My question is a little different. I did what is now called the 'Standard Start' of the degree, and this summer I'll have completed 180 credits. There is, however, the 'Advanced Start' of the course, where there are more (advanced) options in Year 1. I've been told by the student fees department that it is possible for me to be funded this change - I would essentially be registered on two replacement modules, and a 60-credit module I did in Year 1 would be unlinked from my degree.

In short, I would do an extra 60 credits, but neither my degree nor any sort of pathway would change. It would still be the same from then on.

Is this something I have to contact SFE about before applying for funding this summer? The student fees department said that SFE only pay attention to the tuition fee liability I incur in each academic year rather than any specific module I am engaging on.

Thanks!

Hi there, that's correct in that it's the fees. However, if the fees or credits are changing, we'd require the university to send us a 'change of circumstance' to update this on the system. Thanks, Jason
