Don't make the same mistakes as me when doing Hirevues...

I just botched a Hirevue in one of the worst possible ways, and I don't even think anyone can top off how much I failed this one.

I had a Hirevue due with just 3 questions and had unlimited retakes...well, I sped through all video questions, hoping to practice my answers on them first before actually videoing my answers. Well, for the 2nd and 3rd questions, I could clearly see the retake buttons, but for the first question, it may have been a bug or something but the retake button was hidden by the actual video and could not retake it...I panicked and clicked as many buttons and even transferred to my other laptop to see if it was just a laptop issue, but it was the same.

I panicked more and also mind you, I've been preoccupied by weeks of revision and essays and also several illnesses simultaneously so it may have led to my cognitive decline but I am still 100% at fault for what happened...I was clicking through pages and buttons and accidentally clicked on the submit button without actually videoing any of my responses. I'm so embarrassed with even the first video question just me coughing so much as I am still sick. I know that Hirevue uses AI to screen the videos and stuff, but I'm pretty sure staff still looks through them, and I am so undoubtedly embarrassed, and I caution everyone not to do what I did, which was panicking. If you have an issue, please reach out to your recruiter. I should have done that first.

I emailed the recruiter explaining my situation and kind of begged them to reinstate my Hirevue and I felt so depressed yesterday as this internship opportunity meant so much to me and also considering it's already March and internship applications for summer 2025 are almost already closed. I haven't received a response from them yet, but I doubt I ever will because they were very clear in their previous emails that they cannot allow re-dos of Hirevues no matter the circumstance and my circumstance was purely idiotic in their eyes, and I don't blame them.

Truly...do not do what I did. Take a day off to rest before committing to doing a Hirevue.
