GEM funding (SFE) with two undergrads

As per the title, has anyone completed two undergrads before studying GEM? What were your undergrads and did you get SFE Funding? I'm aware of the available GEM Funding, but unable to locate any exemptions if previously completed two undergrads. When calling SFE they state due to the type of course GEM is, prior study doesn't impact eligibility for funding even if having studied two (funded via SFE) undergrad degrees (Dietetics, Sports).
Thank you in advance!

Hi Stephen, just thanks for responding here. Can you please confirm the above, that regardless of previously funded studies (e.g., Dietetics and Sports degrees) that I will still be entitled to GEM funding, both tuition and maintenance loans? I am aware that I have to self-fund ~£3,500 of first year fees myself.

In addition to the above, I have applied to SFE using A102 course code. However, SFE are saying I’ve chosen undergrad Medicine. They are currently reassessing my application, but I keep getting emails saying I’ll hear from them later and later. Any ideas? Thanks!

Hi Jerome, We disregard any previous study (including Postgraduate Masters and Postgraduate Doctoral) a student had completed prior to starting their Graduate Entry Medical (GEM) course. Students in year 1 of the course must self-fund the first £3,465 of the total fee charged by the university. Student Finance England can award a tuition fee loan of up to £5,785 and a full Maintenance Loan. Students in Years 2-4 of this course type will be entitled to a tuition fee loan of up to £5,535 and NHS England will pay £3,715 of the student’s fees. A Reduced Rate Maintenance Loan is available. Thanks, Stephen.

Fantastic, thank you for your response Stephen. Would you be able to comment on why SFE may think I’m going to study undergrad Medicine, despite linking the correct course code from my end of things? Human error perhaps from SFE? A team member has seen that I am going to study Medicine and seen my academic background, then assessed as no tuition support? As you have clarified above, I should entitled to funding for GEM as per the above.

Hi Jerome,

It would be best to access your account so we can check this - can you try sending us a live chat on your account (the option should appear when you login)? One of our team will be able to help.

Thanks, Graeme
