I feel like I have ruined my future by taking 4 Highers in S5

In S4 I was put in a national 5 mathematics applications class, instead of national 5 maths. This has led to me having to take regular national 5 maths in S5 as i would like to do Higher maths in S6. the problem with this is that schools like Glasgow and Edinburgh prefer you doing five Highers in S5 and as I would have four I feel like i have no chance getting into these schools. ive tried to make up to this by taking five highers in S6 but overall it feels like I still have no chance of getting in becuase of the four highers i am doing in s5.

is there anyone that has been able to get into edinbrugh or glasgow even if they did not do five highers in s5

noo don’t worry about it ! i’m sure by looking at your results and which subjects you took each year they can tell which position you were in & that you had to. worst case scenario, if you do well in your exams, they’ll give you a conditional offer. you should speak to your teachers & others if you want about this to make yourself better because i’m sure they’ll know people who have received offers even with only 4 highers. good luck & don’t stress too much about it (:
