MTG - Tarkir: Dragonstorm

Magic: The Gathering's 104th expansion, Tarkir: Dragonstorm, is due for full release on April 11th, 2025. Paper pre-release starts ahead of digital on April 4th, while MTG Arena gets the set on April 8th.

"The set marks the conclusion of the Dragonstorm Arc. After the Stormnexus Ritual, the elder dragonlords have been replaced by five new spirit dragons. A new breed of dragons are now pouring out through dragonstorms all over the plane. As the dragons take flight across the skies of Tarkir, each flap of their wings rips through the Omenpaths. The five resurgent clans of Tarkir strike back against this threat to the Multiverse."

A return to the popular setting of Tarkir, and with no weird hats in sight! Magic: The Gathering is going through a number of big changes at the moment, most notably the imminent introduction of Universes Beyond to standard, but even the in-universe sets have felt very 'tropey' for want of a better word over the last year. In contrast, what we've seen of Dragonstorm so far feels to me (and many other fans elsewhere) like a more traditional Magic set. Hopefully this will do well, and prove to Wizards of the Coast that their own IP can still stand on its own without any gimmicks, but only time will tell...

Feel free to share your thoughts on the upcoming set in this thread, be it for the cards themselves, the story, or anything else!

...I let this thread die again, didn't I? :ahee: New sets come out so rapidly these days, and I've been busy with work and other things, so I haven't had much time to get hyped over Dragonstorm. But it's up on Arena now!
