LAE Stratford Sixth Form or Seven Kings Sixth Form

i recently received a contextual provisional offer from lae stratford (which is highest priority enrolment)
i also basically got confirmed an offer for seven kings by the headteacher during the open evening when i told her my grades
both lae and sks are like safety second choices for me but im having a hard time deciding between them

i know lae is the better school technically but i want to go into cs at uni at my subjects at sks are better for that

at sks i will do maths, fm, cs, econ
at lae i will do maths, econ, politics, philosophy(which i will try to change for fm at enrolment since i am confident i will get a 9 at gcse maths)

which school would be better to prioritise

Hi all, I noticed that someone said they got a "contextual provisional offer". Is this the same as a "provisional offer" and how do you know that this is the top priority group for admissions? Thank you

I'm a current student at SK, what Ms Waters says is not always correct. She can just say from the top of her head that your grades are good but SK recieves thousands of applications. SK is a good 6th form for your subjects, I do econ and my teachers are dedicated I can admit that. But honestly they treat us like 6 year olds who know nothing, our director of 6th form calls us literal children, basically cannot trust us with anything and is constantly nitpicking at us. If you look forward to your y13 prom night that likely will not happen/will be in the school to keep budgets low. SK's biggest downfall as a 6th form is their treatment of us as young adults. Soley based on subjects and the fact you want to do cs in uni, I'd say prioritise SK, but if you want to go to a great 6th form, which from what i know treat their students with actual respect, pick LAE.

LAE stratford is very good

When should you expect a response from seven kings?? Or do they not respond if you haven’t got in?

seven kings is great however it can feel a bit small sometimes, there arent thay many shops nearby compared to LAE which literally has westfield near it. I hate it here at Seven kings. avoid it at all costs

Hi!
I go to LAE and I would recommend coming here (totally not biased!)
First, you will definitely be able to change your subjects on results day, so don't worry about that!
And, even though LAE does not offer cs, you will get a lot of support to apply to it and have amazing opportunities as well, within school and outside- I know plenty of people have gotten into cs after coming here!

Hi what were your gcses predicted to get into lae

I do humanities, applied for english lit, psychology, politics and econ originally with 999888888
Then, on results day, I applied for english lit, psychology, politics and history of art with 999888888 (and was invited in the first group to enroll)

LAE does look at your application holistically, so I also had a really amazing reference from my teacher, had quite a few clubs/ hobbies and stuff mentions (I believe they asked about that?) and live locally (but not in Newham)

If you have any other questions let me know!

Hi thank you for responding and how you had such amazing grades
Sorry to bother but I do have some questions:

1.

What does it mean they they say they look at your application holistically

2.

How many clubs did you do

3.

How do you find LAE

Lots of oxbridge, mdv and international uni support so far in year 12 (guessing they will do more general uni stuff after exams), I am in the oxbridge program and we are doing weekly whole group sessions where we learn stuff like how to pick a college/ subject and stuff, and the subject/ entrance exam specific smaller groups
The workload really depends on your subject, for example biology students have to do a lot of prereading before lessons, whilst in english I wouldn't say i get tooooo much homework

1.

They will look at contextual info, your activities you mention, teacher reference to get a better idea of the people they are letting in

2.

I mentioned a few, like maybe 3? but I did mention quite a few hobbies and stuff but don't stress too much about that

3.

I love it here tbh, exam seasons are stressful but other than that its amazing
