Student finance HELP

Hi

I've made a massive student finance mistake. I submitted the application for the wrong year. I'm starting uni in Sept 2025 and accidentally submitted for Sept 2024. I know this is like shockingly stupid. I've followed the steps to cancel it but didn't receive an email, or any sort of confirmation and it still looks the same under my account.

Does anyone have any experience with cancelling student finance? How long it took? How long before you reapplied?

Hi there, when submitting the cancellation request via the online account, If this has successfully cancelled the application via the online account, the status will change to ‘deleted’ after approximately 24 hours. As this was for the previous academic year, you can actually start the application for the 25/26 academic year while this is being updated. If however the 24/25 is still showing as active, we would need to check to see why this is, but this can be cancelled, but you may need to contact us on 0300 100 0607 or contact us via the Live Chat option for to check this for you.
