question for parking around bournemouth

hello! i'm in the midst of getting a car and achieving my licence, and i'm super interested in AUB. i was just wondering how am i supposed to keep my car at campus (i'm applying for the on-campus accom in june!)

i don't see anything about permits for campus, so i'm kind of confused as to actually how i'm supposed to keep my car around. for context, i live about 3 hours away from bournemouth around central london

It’s normally a bad idea to bring a car to university. Leave it at home for your first term, if you decide you really need it after that then you have had time to find options on where to pay to park it.

Most universities don’t offer parking unless you’re disabled so you have to rent a space privately or find on road parking without restrictions.

I think there are car spots at AUB but you have to rent it out and it's quite expensive. Next to Madeira halls there is a multilevel car park. Again - Expensive. If you can put it off until second year, there are a lot of student houses with driveways though!! Great for jobs as you can work further out without worrying about buses and all that.

Some people had cars, but none of them who were in halls of residence did as there wouldn't be anywhere to park them.

There is no space on campus for parking…
However, houses close to the university rent spaces on their drives to students - you need to get in quickly if you want to get one close to the campus.
When I was there I spoke to year 2 students in a house who had a drive and they allowed me to park my car on their drive - I gave them a cash gift each month to say thank you - nothing official (£30) so it’s worth looking at that option.
