gutted to be rejected for ucl bio chem eng in spite of meeting grades

gutted to be rejected by UCL for Biochem Engineering after meeting grades(AAA in bio, chem, maths). can I appeal or ask to be considered for clearing plus/clearing? The stats for admissions in past years made it seem like it was very possible. Do I have any options. Don't know where to go from here,.should i speak to the admissions office

I would try to appeal and try through clearing. Especially if you are going to get the grades necessary.

Is there a route to appeal the decision? I don't think this course was in clearing last year

I wonder if I should have applied to chem eng instead- they have a larger intake. The acceptance rate has been historically 70% for Biochem eng so I thought I had a reasonable chance

On the past they let in students with grades as low as BCC! Though that was just over 10 years ago. With grade inflation rife in terms of predicted grades and grades achieved, UCL may have upped their minimum requirements since then. Did you make it clear in your application personal statement that you wanted to do this course? Did you attend a private school?
