PGDE secondary to teaching additional needs schools

Hi,

I'm completing my PGDE this coming year at UoE in secondary school mathematics, but have been interested in the possibility of teaching in additional needs schools in the future. Has anyone had experience with completing the PGDE Secondary and then going on to teach in schools, and if so I'd love to hear what the process was and how I could go about this if I decided to pursue such a route.

I would love to gain some experience in such schools first, not sure whether this is possible through PGDE placements or through contacting schools? Thanks for any help in advance!
