Gap year between vet studies?

Hi

I hold an offer for surrey vet med to start this year. I can only afford the first 4 years. I was wondering if anyone has taken a year out between their studies or know how feasible it is to do that as it is my second time applying to vet school and i'm worried withdrawing my offer and applying again would be a big risk.

I read about temporary withdrawal of course - possible to complete like the first two years of a course then take a year out to work then proceed to 3rd year?

Hi, I don't know if it differs between unis but I know of someone who intermitted a year at Cambridge vet school, I'm not sure if there are rules/requirements/extenuating circumstances you have to meet or anything but it does seem that it is possible!

I don’t know about other unis but I know people at Liverpool who have taken a gap year (or even two) between their studies. I don’t know whether you need to specify reasons etc but I imagine it’s not too difficult. The only time I wouldn’t recommend is between 4th and 5th year because you’d started rotations and it would be difficult to arrange then, but otherwise I think it would be fine.
