personal statement through school

Does personal statement have to be run by school? will they check??

Hi @rishika_nair,

That's a great question ☺️

Your personal statement doesn’t have to be checked by your school. However, many students find it helpful to get feedback from teachers, tutors, or career advisors. They can offer valuable insights on how to make your personal statement stand out, and since they likely have experience reading these, it’s definitely worth asking them to have a quick look.

Your personal statement is an important part of the application process, as it’s your chance to show a university that you’re the right fit for their course. Writing a good one takes some effort, but don’t worry, it isn’t a test! It’s an opportunity to present yourself in the best possible light. Be clear, honest, and enthusiastic about why you’re passionate about your course.

At Oxford Brookes, we have a helpful webpage with guidance on writing your personal statement. Please do take a look.

I hope this helps, and best of luck with your application! We’d love to hear about the courses you’re interested in 😊

Best wishes,

Clare

They will usually check yes. Even before the application stage, they'll provide some sort of advice and will help review a few drafts.

We also do offer a Personal Statement Checking Service here on TSR, which will open again in September.
