Where to live outside London that would be relatively cheap but also a short commute?
Hi, I'm a postgraduate student at UCL arriving in September. I was doing some research on accommodation, and I would prefer living in a studio with my own kitchen and bathroom because I appreciate my privacy. I've accepted London is too expensive for me. My budget can be up to 250gbp per week max, maybe even 300 if I get too desperate but not more. I hope someone can guide me on what the best areas are because I'm a little confused.

Define "short". You would have to be an hour or more from central London to find a cheap rental. You would miss out on some of the fun of university life.
