help, a level subject choices for finance

hi so i am in y11 and i want to do finance , possibly maybe econ but mainly finance so i want to do actuarial science at LSE or MORSE at warwick.

basically i am picking maths and fm, but then the orher 3 i am stuck between are physics, econ, and spanish. spanish isn't as linked to finance directly but i know languages provide variety and i am really good at gcse but i don't know how i would be at a level.

my sixth former friends yesterday were saying that econ is relatively easy and people who take it don't have to worry about it, but with spanish you are up against native speakers so it is quite hard.

i know physics is really hard but i think i don't mind that because science is one of my strong subjects and plus for LSE they suggest it for actuarial science and they take into account subject combination.

ultimately, does anyone know which combo i should take, which 2 out of spanish econ or physics would be best? not in terms of enjoyment alone btw , cs i want to know the reality of it asw, thanks!!

First of all, you need to think about what you like. There is not such thing as an easy subject, they find it easy because they like it. Take that subject just because you thought it would be easy can end up as being a very bad idea. In terms of languages you are not up against native speakers! It's a very common misconception, but the grade boundaries don't work this way.
Choose what you like doing the most and as long as it fits into the required subjects for university you will be fine. But if they don't fit, consider asking yourself: "Is this the degree which I want to do?".
You can also try looking closer at the curriculum(look at the topic list or read a sample of textbook on Amazon) and papers of all of the subjects you are considering to get a better idea of them.

Econ and maths will be the most helpful in a finance degree

BSc Accounting and Finance | Study at Bristol | University of Bristol - AAA including Mathematics, or A*AB including A in Mathematics
Finance BSc Honours | Undergraduate | Newcastle University - AAB 'Maths, Business or Economics may be useful' plus GCSE Maths and English at grade 6
Finance BSc | University of Leicester - ABB. All subjects accepted. Must have GCSE Maths grade 5.

Etc.

LSE - A*AA, with an A* in Mathematics.
FM is viewed as 'desirable' but : "We understand that Further Mathematics is not available in all schools/colleges you will not be disadvantaged if this is the case.".

Check the unis websites to see what subjects (if any) they specify.
If you want to do something economics/finance related, then economics might be a good subject to pick. And if you like spanish and are really good at it then that would be worth a shot. And like you say, languages are also useful.

For the best chance do Further maths, maths and economics and if you want you can do geography or Spanish as your fourth but it really isn’t necessary. I wouldn’t recommend doing physics unless you need it im saying this as a physics student myself.
