University of Brighton or Leicester for physiotherapy?

I applied for physiotherapy at University of Birmingham, Liverpool, Nottingham, Brighton and Leicester but I’ve only had offers from the last two.
Leicester didn’t really impress me on the first open day, but when I went for my interview I could see myself living there a bit more. I really liked the idea of living in Brighton but when I went to the applicant day I was a bit disappointed by how quiet the falmer campus seemed and how far it was away from the town centre. I feel like I might be kind of missing out on the vibe of Brighton if my accommodation and all my classes are at Falmer and I’m not mixing with other kinds of students that much. I really want to get out there a bit and have a bit of an adventure when I go to uni. All the facilities at Brighton seem a lot nicer and newer than Leicester so that is an advantage.
Just wondering what advice anyone else had and what experience you may have had with either university?
Thanks

Hello @NickPoore65,

Firstly, what didn't impress you about Leicester, we would be happy to respond to any questions or concerns you may have!

Although Leicester's facilities may be older in general, they all have a really important history including being one of only two living memorials in the world. One excellent thing about Leicester's physiotherapy course is that you get practical experience through our physiotherapy clinic.

I hope this helps, if you have any further questions please do let us know!

hi @NickPoore65 !

I'm a current student at brighton and though i dont study at falmer i think i can tell you what its like.

From falmer to the city centre is about a half an hour bus ride which isnt the longest to go into town and the buses are very regular even during the night to get back after nights out. There are student tickets as well to make the buses cheaper. It is a bit away from the city but its not just you who will be studying at the campus! there are tons of people who will be right there with you.

Falmer campus is a bigger than some other campuses which is why it feels quiet but i can assure you that every time ive been there it is quite lively! Checkland building is bustling, especially at lunchtime and the cafe there is great. As the campus is somewhat sports based, the sport facilities often have people there, from the gym to the outdoor fields.

A great way to meet people outside your course or campus is to join societies! A few of them are hosted at a different campus to you which is a good way to explore different parts of the uni. you are also allowed to visit any of the other campuses your not studying at anytime.

There are loads of ways to have a bit of an adventure at uni! ike i mentioned above societies are a great way, we also have a bustling music and comedy scene as well as lots of bars, pubs, clubs, and tons of cafes for your rest days 😂 one of the things i've noticed since moving here is that there is always something going on in brighton theres never a dull week!

I hope this helps you make your decision! If you havent already id also suggest joining the Unibuddy Community to meet people on your course and people that share your interest before you start!
If you have any more questions, feel free to ask!
