University of Chichester

I am a Year 12 A-level student that has no clue where they want to go to Uni. So far, the only one that has stood out to me is the University of Chichester. Are there any students that go there that could let me know what they think of it?

Hey! I graduated in 2023 from Chichester.
What course are you doing? There's been a lot of disagreement recently with cuts in the humanities department as the whole uni shifts more to performance/sport/psychology based degrees - I felt the support during my degree from the staff in my department was great but the wider support was a huge letdown in terms of academics. I did achieve very high grades and I'm off to Durham for a masters (Chi made so many cuts that though I desperately wanted to stay, I couldn't), but I'm not sure what others have experienced a little more recently as they made the cuts when I was in the final stages of my course/about to graduate.
However, academic gripes aside, the community feel is second to none - I really struggled socially at school/sixth form because I moved around a lot as a child and had a difficult time but I found some amazing friends at Chichester who I still regularly chat with. There's a good amount of societies which was really surprising for such a small uni. It is quiet and I think this goes for the whole city but at the same time there's a little bit of everything.
I only found Chichester by accident and I applied because I was overwhelmed at the thought of a huge university. It definitely feels more like a college in terms on knowing people, I couldn't make it from one side of the campus to the other without running into someone I knew! The disability support was also exceptional, something I definitely appreciate more now that I've applied to a bigger uni for a masters and found it to be more difficult haha.
I would definitely recommend visiting.
