Chemical Engineering Work Experience

Hi i was wondering if there are any chemical engineering work experiences i could apply. I'm in year 12. My school requires me to have one done from 7/7/25-11/7/25. I emailed Thames Water about work experience as they run most of water treatment facilities however they said they dont run any work experience programmes even though i enquired about shadowing one of their treatment facilities. Should I keep trying to email the facilities individually or look for a different area of work experience. I do have a backup plan (incase) where I will be doing it with a family friend where he is a software engineer. I dont mind if the companies i apply dont have formal work experience programmes as long as i am able to shadow some of their employees.

Very few companies run any sort of formal work experience programme, so if you want something engineering related you're going to have to contact individual companies, facilities etc.

I’m also looking for some kind of ChemEng work experience at the moment. If you find anywhere good let me know. Also what do you mean by shadow?

I just did it at my dad's place(security part of big bank so decent amount of engineers there, albeit not chemical). I emailed Thames water but they don't do any work experience type thing. Most chemical labs are far north so couldn't do that. What I meant by shadowing is that you just watch what another employee does. You don't really do any work just watch them (like a shadow)
