Edinburgh Uni for Fashion ??????

Hey has anyone got offers from the Uni of Edinburgh for fashion at all? I’m thinking of going there but also want the full truth of the course because I don’t want to go and be unhappy or unimpressed. Thanks !

it was really early for me like start of march, but they’re notorious for giving out offers/rejections in april and may, i’d applied previously and wasn’t rejected until around the response deadline so it really could be anytime

Hey, so I have many questions even thought I haven’t been offered a place yet but I’m definitely interested in going if I do get a place but it’s between Leeds art uni or Edinburgh. So what grades did you get in college or alevels ? And did you do a fashion based subject ? Also sorry I’m asking so many questions ahahah, do you think Edinburgh is a good university for socialising with diffrent students in diffrent subjects ? And lastly, what do you think about the course ? Thank you so much ! Xxxx

i’m a scottish student so didn’t do a-levels, i did a course beforehand that got me into second year direct entry so probably not really helpful to compare there

i’d say it can be good for that! i think when you get in early and meet people during freshers and stuff it can be pretty easy to make friends, also the campus is fairly small so it’s not hard to see people from all the other subjects, just kinda depends on yourself i suppose.

as for the course, i do enjoy it, it is intense and has high expectations but you get a lot of tutor interaction and feedback, but i am happy i decided to go compared to anywhere else - the facilities are good, you get your own desk space (unlike ual and some others), the course is smaller so you get more time with lecturers etc etc so i would reccomend it, i have no idea what leeds is like though in comparison

This is super helpful!! Thank you so much. Yeah I’m currently doing a Btec Art course which involves fashion, architecture, fine art and design at a 6th form school in the UK. I’m predicted over the course requirements at Edinburgh for fashion so I hope I do get in but I haven’t heard back yet. Just hoping a campus uni with lots of different subjects going on will be easier to make more mates than being at UAL where I’ve not heard the best things and it’s definitely harder to have friends in other departments since it’s only art. What do you think of the night life there? X

sorry late reply! I stayed in warrender park crescent and it was really nice (and great price for edi), room was like average sized and I don't rlly have any complaints, I only saw mine + Mylnes court, Fraser court and south clerk street but they were all pretty nice. as for nightlife I don't go out much in edi only rlly Glasgow but there's some good places, if u want like typical student clubs and bars there's tons of options and ppl enjoy it
