Application process question

Hi,
I understand that applying to Cambridge and Oxford at the same time isn’t an option. But since both are interesting to me and I feel like id like to apply to both is there any way I can apply to both? Like can I apply to one In Year 13 and then one at 12? I really don’t know how applications are. If not through UCAS can I do it individually? And why is it that you can only apply to one? It isn’t like they are partners or something?

The admissions processes at Oxford and Cambridge are labour-intensive and there are many more applicants than places. That is why you have to pick one of the two in any one admissions cycle. You can apply to both only if seeking an organ scholarship.

If you apply to one and are rejected, you can apply to the same one or to the other the following year. You cannot apply to one while holding an offer from the other.

PS: You can only apply through UCAS.

You can only apply via UCAS - there is no other route to applying.

If they are both of interest, then spend the time between now and the deadline getting a feel for the differences between them (esp in your chosen course) so you can decide which will be a better fit for your own interests. Yes they have similar architecture, independent colleges, and a tutorial system, but there are big differences in course structure and content, assessment structure, etc.

If you are rejected, you can take a gap year and apply to the other one next time round. Or you can apply to the other one for a Masters.
