point: what are you talking about in this paragraph? which coastal erosion defence strategy? which city's development scheme? (that's for edexcel A, might be different for B but same idea applies)

evidence: make up the numbers they actually don't care. as long as it's reasonable, it's ok. e.g. in 2015 the local government in Yorkshire built groynes across 10 miles of the Hornsea coastline, costing 10 million pounds but reducing longshore drift by an estimated 23%. you deffo need numbers here as these get u the marks

explain/effect: they just did that thing. what are the implications? e.g. As a result of longshore drift decreasing, the beach stayed intact, as more sediment was deposited there. This helped the tourism industries, as the amount of people going to Hornsea on holiday increased by 12.6% according to a recent survey. However, some view the groynes as being unattractive and unnecessary,
