Hi Donna 😊 👋

Well a big congratulations to you for getting into midwifery as you know it is very highly competitive to get into midwifery.

Hope you are now looking forward to starting in September and also the hard work ahead for the next three years but worth it at the end of the degree when you are qualified as a midwife.

You'll find it hard probably at first when you do your first placement especially working a possible 12/13 hours shift so make sure you have a good pair of very comfortable shoes okay 👍 😊. Nightshift at first can be very tiring until you get use to working nights but just remember that your body has to adjust to you working various days and shift patterns but it does settle down.

Good luck with your journey to becoming a midwife 🥰🥰🥰🤗

You are welcome 🤗 🤗

No you don't need to have masters degree for band 7.

You'll qualify as a band 5 ( newly qualified grade), you can then apply for a band 6 position after a few years and then again few years later apply for band 7.

I think some places offer newly qualified midwives after they do there preceptorship band 6..... Not everywhere does this.
The job description for a higher position will give you the information about how long you need to be qualified before you can apply for a higher position job.

I was able to apply for band 6 after a year as some of my local NHS boards advertise this but doesn't mean you might get it but worth applying for. I was 15 months qualified when I got band 6 and few years later promoted to band 7 ( usually it's five years experience for band 7) I was couple months short but still was offered it.
