Bristol, Edinburgh or Manchester for law?

I have offers from Bristol, Manchester and Edinburgh for law however I don’t know which one to firm. I have visited Bristol but I have never been to Manchester or Edinburgh. I don’t know which would be best for law however I am leaning toward Bristol because the course required the Lnat which I sat last year. Although I have heard that Edinburgh is good for law.

All are good unis for law.

If I were you, I would take Bristol's offer as you already has preference on it.

Do you have any preference in where you want to practise? Edinburgh offers Scot Law and may not be what you want.

LNAT or not doesn’t always mean a great deal, but Bristol is great-

Best for law- probably Bristol, as it’s 3 years and the most highly respected English law course from these options( probably firm this).

Edinburgh is easily the nicest location out of these 3, but it’s Scot’s law- if you don’t want another year converting to English law after the 4 year course- Insure Manchester( another great school).

Congratulations, I recommend the University of Bristol. Firstly, the University of Bristol Law School has an excellent academic reputation both globally and in the UK. In the QS World University Rankings by Subject (2024), Bristol's law subjects are usually ranked in the top 10 in the UK and have strong research strengths in areas such as legal research and judicial reform. Secondly, Law at Bristol is one of the few programmes to require the LNAT, which is further evidence of its academic rigour and competitiveness. The fact that you have passed the LNAT shows that you have met Bristol's high admissions standards, which is one reason to prioritise Bristol. Although the University of Edinburgh is also well known for its law subjects, its legal system is more oriented towards Scottish law, and if you are aiming for English or international legal matters, Bristol's legal system (English and Welsh law) may be more suitable for you. In addition, while the University of Manchester's law programme is also good, Bristol tends to be better in terms of subject rankings, quality of graduate employment and law firm recognition.

Thanks for the reply! I’m from Northern Ireland so the British legal system would probably be better suited than Scottish law. I hadn’t considered the conversion.
