For the Unseen poetry and the essay in general. The markscheme says writers effect of the method. So am i to assume that I am allowed to say the effects of the reader. I thought this was a language technique. I did read somewhere that you are meant to say the effect on the reader. Are you allowed to use structure like shift in focus, cliffhanger, withholding of info. Language and structure or just language?

Language techniques are metaphors, similies, alliteration ect. Effect is the reason why the writer used this method, for example you could write: "writer is using ...(language technique) to highlight the importance of ... because ...", or "the use of ...(language technique) makes reader feel ... because ...".
It would actually be better if you write both about language and structure as it adds depth to your analysis, so absolutely do it if you can!

alright. I did include what it makes the writer feel after the language analysis. However i did include structural techniques like why a writer has positioned the text where he has and shift in focus and stuff
