work in sixth form?

as a Y12 A-level student, im curious to know from older years/ current Y13s, do you recommend working alongside alevels? im looking for a job right now as getting my
own income for some financial independence is important to me right now, but im not sure whether its ideal when taking alevels? or better to ask, what jobs are easier/ most suitable for alevel students? (like retail, grocery stores, cosmetics etc.)

I didn't work during sixth form, but do during university.
If you don't need to, I wouldn't. You have more work to do during A Levels and more hours in schools than in the first year in university I have found.
I would focus on getting work experience or super curriculars etc.
If you do need to work, most schools say no more than 8-10 hours a week.
Remember if you are worried about money, you could apply for and try and get a summer job and work during Year 12/13 summer.
When I was in sixth form I had a few jobs.

The first was being a carer to a severely mentally and physically disabled woman every Friday evening 6-9pm, and every second Saturday night 6-9pm, and 1 Sunday morning per month 9am-12pm
I did that from ages 15-19.

The second was working in Ainsley's (like Greggs) every Saturday 8am-5pm.
I did that for 10 months when I was 18.

The third was working for Leeds City Catering. This was temp work, so they offered me gigs as-and-when they came up, and I accepted them as-and-when I could. I worked at the food/drink kiosks at Elland Road whenever there was a match on (yes pulling pints even though I was underage). I served canapés at Doncaster races once. I cleaned a board room at the Royal York hotel once. I served ice cream from an ice cream van/static kiosk thing in the middle of nowhere on my own once. I cleaned hotel rooms in The Village hotel once. It was all very random.
I did that when I was 16-17.
