It was so so so good!! I really enjoyed it, I'd defo recommend making a post like this one to try and find other people because I spoke to a girl and we found eachother on the first night, it made it feel less awkward.
It consists of lots of maths talks, some focused on engineering/economics but still mathsy obviously, tours of Trinity and Christ's, and VERY helpful talks on the application process etc. The food was also yummy (and free!). You get free time in the evenings and a bit in the day and it was really fun to explore Cambridge and make friends. The staff are SO so so lovely (Ellie Woods is my queen, you will understand when you go) and it was easy to chat to people. The rooms you stay in are decent although the beds are... stiff. Everyone said their backs were killing, but it was worth it! They're all ensuite which is nice as I was apprenhensive to share a bathroom with strangers.
One really great thing to note is that, if you end up applying to Cambridge and specifically if you apply to Christ's maths, theres a solid chance your interviewers will be people you had talks from in the residential. I didn't end up applying but my boyfriend did and coicidentally he chose Christ's, and his interview had bits with Dr Robert Hunt (director of studies for maths) and Dr Henry Bradford, both of whom did talks. So that could be useful to have!
