University of Nottingham Accommodation

Hi!! I'm currently picking accommodations for my first year at the University of Nottingham. I'll be studying at Jubilee campus and was looking at Newark hall (self-catered) but I couldn't find any information on how the kitchen situation would work since it's a university hall. I was told unlike some private accoms were it's like clusters and maybe like 5 people to flat who share a kitchen, whereas for the university hall, it's just a corridor and then anyone in the residence has access to the communal kitchen. How does that work in terms of personal items and fridge space and things like that. If anyone is currently staying there or has any info and can shed some light on the kitchen situation, it would be very helpful. Secondly, as a second option, I was looking at riverside point. How is it in terms of location? Are there food shops around it to get groceries? Is it a far walk to campus?
