After finishing if you wanted to become HCPC registered you would need to submit the degree to the IBMS to be assessed and complete any modules they required. (There is no student loan available for these modules, you would need to pay for them).

But if you don't want to be a biomedical scientist then it doesn't matter.

Hi @adamhbk323

This course has very recently been accredited by the Institute of Biomedical Science (IBMS)!

If your goal is to work within the NHS as a Biomedical Scientist, completion of an IBMS-accredited degree will mean you can apply for trainee Biomedical Scientist roles. You could then go on to complete the IBMS registration training portfolio, which is a pre-requisite for full qualification in this role and potential registration with the Health and Care Professions Council.

I hope that helps

Hi Abbie- just as a headsup, it's not about the NHS. It's about working anywhere in the UK as a Biomedical Scientist. It's a protected title and so it is against the law to work as one without being registered with the HCPC.
