No problem! Are you going to the offer holder day next Saturday?

Unfortunately not, I live abroad and can't make either of the offer holder days. Newcastle was always my number 1 choice though 🙌
What about you?

I’m not sure yet but I loved Newcastle at the normal open day! After all the offer holder days I’ll decide, I didn’t expect to have a choice, and I was stunned that I got into Newcastle!

Haha, I'm the complete opposite, live ages away from Newcastle but didn't really like Warwick as a place that much so will probably firm Newcastle over it. Just waiting on Soton to get back to me.

oh good luck with soton!! i never actually saw any of warwick, just the campus tbh, but it is quite different in that ppl seem to be so spread out. how r u feeling about going somewhere far from home?

Tbf I mainly saw the campus too, but just didn't really like it. The sports centre was really nice though, I spent some time there after my interview.

I'm not too fussed about being far away, I've always been more independent anyway and only moved back last year to help save money for GEM.

I only saw Warwick at the interview, I didn’t particularly like the campus but the medical school seems to have a great reputation for teaching so that’s still a factor! I applied for Edinburgh undergrad as a 4th crazy choice and I got in but obviously the payment of undergrad is a massive thing so I’m not ruling it out but it’ll probably be between Warwick and Newcastle in the end.

ah so valid yeah. nice to spend some time at the sports centre, everyone on the warwick chat seems to be raving about it.

so r u pretty settled on newcastle then?

kinda twinning coz i did the same but with newcastle undergrad but the cost ruled it out since i got GEM

warwick does seem like a great medical school, i think for me i like that warwick has such a big cohort of gem, but honestly both r such amazing choices to have

Completely agreed! And yeah the chat does seem to be raving over the sports centre 😂 I’m having a think about what’s most important to me in a uni and weighing up the pros and cons. I’ve heard bad things about organisation in all my options so that’s just something I think every medical school has issues with 😭🫠

Hi thanks a lot for creating this thread!
Does anyone have any info on how the first year is structured? I.e. timetable, semester layout.
From 2nd year onwards A101 is incorporated into A100 course so I really would like to know more about the structure of 1st year!
Unfortunately I am not able to join the offer holder day this coming week...

I’m not sure either so it’s on my list of questions to ask on Saturday - I’ll let you know what I find out 🙃

Yeah I think I'm pretty much settled on it. I think all things considered, I'd rather choose somewhere I'll enjoy more to live as that will have knock on effect on my ability to handle the course workload. For me being close to the national parks around Newcastle is a big positive.
