Requirments for HND in Biomedical science

I was wondering whether I would be accepted onto a HND for biomedical science

I completed a foundation year and year 1 all but one module in Paramedic science
Unfortunately I only achieved DDD at A level in 2020 none being Sciences though unless you count psychology as I didn't have my maths at the time, later discovering I had Dyscalculia.

Did you have any particular target universities in mind? I ask as not many seem to offer an HND in Biological Science.

One which does, and for which you would appear to meet the entry requirements, is University of Wolverhampton. See details of their HND Biomedical Science course here.

They need just 56 UCAS points (you have 72) and although they say "to include a Science subject, preferably Biology", I'd have thought that modules you'd done during your Paramedic Science studies would satisfy the "Biology" preference here.

Also note that although they don't specify what they mean by "Science subject" on this particular page, for other courses they say "at least one A Level should normally be in a Science subject (e.g. Applied Science; Biology; Human Biology; Physics; Chemistry; Environmental Science, Psychology, Health and Social Care or PE)". So you have the required science subject.

Is this course of any interest? (I've assumed, by the way, that you're seeking to study your HND at university rather than at college.)

University of Wolverhampton where I'm already a student at

Ah. Is that a university you're trying to move away from? Or does the fact that it's the same university hold some appeal?

No I want to stay at the same uni I made friends locally there some through uni but mainly runners who I met at Parkrun who I am missing I want to do a course that I truly enjoy and can get more support ( neurodivergent) I mainly just wanted to know if I would even get onto the course due to the entry requirements so i still plan to email the course lead tommorow.

I'd say you have a decent chance of being accepted. Good luck. :crossedf:
