TMUA in January or October

I am hoping to apply to imperial maths and stats for finance and Bsc MORSE at Warwick and have a few questions?

Should I do the October or January sitting?

If I chose the January wouldn’t I get my results after I’ve sent my application, how would the unis get my results? Would I be considered as fairly as anyone else?

Both say they encourage October but I’m not sure if it’s because it helps me as they say it gives no advantage.

The advantage of October is that places get booked-up quickly. If you don't manage to secure a place, you've still got January as an option.

Also, your TMUA result will be provided directly to the universities. Or, as they say here, "Your results will automatically be sent to any participating institutions included in your UCAS application."

What do you mean by I still have January. The universities state only your first go matters and I thought that you could only book 1. Maybe I have misunderstood?

I mean that if you are unsuccessful at booking TMUA for October, you have an opportunity to book for January instead. If you attempt to book for January and don't manage to book a slot, then you have no further opportunity to book a slot.

Warwick essentially say this here when they say, "There is no advantage to sitting the test in the first or second sitting. However, we strongly encourage you to register for test sitting 1, where possible, to have access to the widest choice of time slots in your chosen location."

As someone who did it in January, I highly recommend just doing it in October. Especially since its still early now and you have time to prepare. My mocks were around the same time as my Jan TMUA and I did really bad in them, also I got kinda behind on A level content which I had to catch up on. Just get it out of the way. Your more likely to get uni offers sooner as well.
