Possibility of Access to Higher Education course to get into Cardiff Uni?

Hi all, I became highly interested in the Diagnostic Radiography and Imaging (BSc) course at Cardiff University, but this interest only came about during my gap year after completing my A-levels. I don't have an A-level in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or Psychology and any one of these A-Levels is required to enrol onto the radiography course. If I were to go back to college to complete an Access to Higher Education (Health Science) Level 3 course, which is 1 year long, would this enable me to enrol onto the course at Cardiff University. The access course is offered by Coleg Gwent and states that the course is designed to 'give you opportunities to move onto a medical sciences degree (such as physiotherapy, paramedic science, radiography, pharmacy...)'.

On their web page for Diagnostic Radiography and Imaging (BSc), here, Cardiff don't list an Access to HE Diploma as meeting their entry requirements. However, they do say:

"Welsh domiciled students studying/having successfully completed certain Access to Higher Education Diploma related to Healthcare may be eligible for a guaranteed interview on application. Please contact the admissions team for specific details: [email protected]"

So they clearly do accept the Access to HE Diploma. I suggest that you contact them at the email address above to (a) check that the course at Coleg Gwent would be acceptable to them and (b) establish what they need in terms of grades.

This is probably too late, but there is also a Pathways to Health Care course run by the Lifelong learning centre at Cardiff Uni. You complete 4 modules over two terms. This helped my daughter to get a place on the physiotherapy course.
