If I were to apply to law schools in the uk in 2026 as an undergraduate student in New Zealand who's currently studying first year law and psychology do I still have to take the LNAT? Because most the law schools stated in their websites that the first years need to take the test?? What do I do?? Should I apply to take the LNAT or???

I'm assuming you are planning on applying to their LLB program and not the LLM program. What is stated on their website is exactly what they expect, it's very direct. Since your circumstances of already obtaining university education as a first year applicant is fairly unique it is definitely worth it to email the admissions of the law schools, they are often very helpful and responsive.

Now, what do I think? It could never hurt to have another recognized qualification under your belt, and I would say better safe than sorry. If you want to apply for 2026, you would have to take the LNAT the October before the application cycle starts (albeit you still have time).
