Hi, I'm from Malaysia and currently in a very complicated situation:
I'm a senior 3 student (Year 13), preparing towards an A-Level equivalent certificate called UEC.
However, due to some circumstances: I've chosen "arts & commerce stream" because I had bad grades and so sciences are not available to me. However, since then my grades have improved tremendously since I've started thinking about the future and got into the best class possible (which also means it's more demanding in terms of projects, grades and extracurricularsr).
I've since decided to start self-learning A-Level because I hope to study Mech Eng and pursue a career in transport or automotive engineering (It's a long story how I got there, but I'm very passionate about it). It has been going very well since last year November and December when there was nothing going on, but this year's school work and managing the final high school year's workload have been extremely stressful. I can only sleep 3-5 hours a day to manage both school and A-Levels not even including all the other extracurriculars that I'm doing since I'm a club president and I've also joined many competitions. This situation has become extremely impossible to manage, and I hope to leave school to self-study A-Levels full time while learning german (I hope to study in Germany as well)
I'm also asked by my tutors why I didn't just go to a school that does A Levels, and the answer is me and my parents decided that spending RM 40K is not worth it and wish to save those money for uni and for the future.
My UEC won't be important towards my uni as my subjects (I'm taking 3 language subjects, 2 maths, geo, history, business and bookkeeping) are not science related, but I will be taking it if it's neccessary for university admission (I'm already registered to the exam), but my focus will be put upon my A levels (Maths, Econs, Further maths and Physics). I guess it's also good to mention I will only be applying with actual grades, not predicted ones and wish to apply for Cam, Imperial, UCL, Edin, and Southampton. It's also important to note that I'm aiming for these school because these school are eligible for full scholarships in my school (I can't say the details), and I asked my school if they are able to provide recommendation letters and they said they are ok with it. Other than that, I also am close to multiple teachers in school.
If you know if I can do the same thing for German universities as well please let me know!!
Feel free to ask any question and give any suggestions, and sorry for any grammar mistakes in the post, I'm crying as I'm writing it.
