So what for food that's more than enough you could defiantly do a food shop and still have quite a sizable amount left over even enough to buy some clothes or the occasional take away and the like.

Hi there,

I definitely agree with the above comment. If your £60 is 'your' money and isn't needed towards anything in particular, then you should be good.

My food shop costs vary each week depending on whether I have to buy more 'cupboard essentials' or whether I'm just topping up my fridge with some fresh food. I can spend as little as £20 and up to around £40-45 on a larger shop (which does last me longer than a week), so you should be covered regardless.

And you should be okay to use some left over cash for leisure activities. If you budget wisely, you should have money left over for social events, outings and other spends which might occur, like clothing, etc.

Hope this helps. 🙂

Hi there,

A student budget of £60 a week is definitely doable, especially without clubbing or alcohol, a good food plan and following student friendly recipes can be really key to keeping track of the budget and keeping it low, but you should manage fine with some savings left over to put towards little treats for when the work get's tough and you need a break.

I might budget slightly more in your first week depending if you need university supplies such as folders, pens and paper

Hope this helps
