Gcse english literature help

ever since year 10, i’ve been really bad at english lit and ive only ever managed to scrape an 8 once (in my year 10 mocks), however, ever since then ive been on 6s on average. during the february half term, i did some a christmas carol revision as we had an assessment the first week back and i honestly thought i was starting to understand how to revise for english. when i did the asssesment , i knew it was not outstanding but i thought it was somewhat decent, like a grade 7 level - last week i got it and i got 17/30 on the assessment and ive been helpless since then. gcse english lit is my first gcse exam (in 45 ish days) and im really scared as i feel like i don’t have much time left to improve my grade , i really just want a 7 or above (if im lucky) but i dont know how. is it possible for me to achieve a grade 7 in the little time i have? Also , any tips on how to have good layers on meaning and any other FREE resources would be really helpful xx the books / poems i study are:
romeo and juliet
love and relationships

Hi! Personally, I've found Mr Salles does brilliant youtube videos for English Lit, and he covers most of the common texts students study at GCSE, as well as doing videos on essay technique/structure. His videos helped me from averaging 5s and 6s in English Lit (which are still really respectable grades) to consistently achieving 9s in my essays (with the occasional 8). PMT also has some pretty good notes on the major texts/anthologies. This all helps you get more layers of analysis, and then the only trick from there is applying that analysis in a persuasive essay to argue a certain approach to the question throughout your essay. The best thing about those two aforementioned resources is that they are FREE!! If you want some more help, I'd be happy to PM you some of my high-scoring practise essays as well as some more tips I have for lit.

Hiii, I've also been struggling with english lit and lang and only able to scrape 4s and 5s, I just find it hard to go into deeper context, making my essays look high level/ high vocab and structuring my essays. I can't find any good enough grade 9 model answers so I feel kind of lost so now I'm really worried that I am going to do bad in my gcses that are coming really soon.

hi im in y10 and i also do love and relationships and r&j (but i did aic last year)- idk much but one thing i will say is mindmaps.
literally pick any character and any theme (or do individuals) and just put quotes and then put analysis
my teacher taught us this acronym for a structure- PQELSC it stands for:
P- Point e.g in romeo and juliet, romeo is presented as depressed in order to explore the themes of masculinity
Q- quotation e.g before meeting romeo in act 1 scene 1 montague describes romeo as (dont quote me on this one) "shut in, without any daylight, turning the day into night" ect
E- this is kinda L and S with buffer words of explanation
L- language e.g this (insert type of word, so verb, noun ect) portrays lalallaalallalal as it displays/ highlights/ exemplifies/ elucidates (try not to use shows) lallalaa and some more explanation
S- structure e.g structurally, although romeo is one of the protagonists he is yet to be met until multiple characters have talked (and some even fueded) displaying how romeo subverts the societal views of masculinity even before the character is met
C- context e.g contextually, elizabethan times were one of a very patriachal society where traditional gender roles were very much assumes in society. romeo crying subverts these- he is not "masculine" bla bla bla bla bla

oh and for quotes eitgher quizlet or study smarter, or anki, or gizmo are good platforms (especially if u cba to make your own flashcards) but if youre not into online ones than putting up quotes on post it notes around the house or your bedroom or mirror or bathroom where you can see them anywhere you go is quite good. you could have separate rooms for separate texts so bathroom is aic and your bedroom is poetry but the dif rooms things can become quite limited very quickly especially if u dont have much space

sorry i yapped on i hoped this helped somewhat
